According to a British Safety Council report (2024), 18 million days are lost every year due to poor mental health. Good mental health enables us to be more productive, engaged, motivated and creative, which alongside a happier workplace, means we can provide better services for all our customers.
In line with our values, TenderHelp recognises the importance of valuing and supporting our colleagues. One of the ways we’ll do this is by supporting mental health in the workplace.
We’re pleased to announce we have signed up to the Charter for Employers Positive About Mental Health.
This means we will:
- Provide non-judgemental and proactive support to staff with experience of mental ill-health.
- Avoid making assumptions about a person with a mental health condition and their ability to work.
- Be positive and enabling toward all employees and applicants with a mental health condition.
- Support line managers in managing mental health in the workplace.
- Ensure the fair recruitment of staff in accordance with the Equality Act (2010).
- Make it clear that people who have experience of mental ill-health will not be discriminated against.
Every two years we will undertake a review, reflecting on our current practices and policies.
We’ve joined the MINDFUL EMPLOYER Employee Assistance Programme, which offers our team 24/7 telephone support 365 days a year, telephone counselling should they want to access it, and an online wellbeing hub.
